Joe then went to work for McCall Design Group, an architectural company with a focus on retail. Joe worked on Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma stores. As a job captain he was responsible for construction documents, coordination between consultants, and construction observation. And yes again, Suzanne and Joe both worked at McCall Design Group. In fact, they sat across from each other :)
After McCall Design Group, Joe joined Studios Architecture. As job captain he worked on mostly interior office renovations, for such clients as e*trade and Warner Bros. Animation. He also designed and detailed various custom elements including decorative metal stairs, bridges, catwalks and sculptural elements.
Wanting to move on to smaller and more residential projects, Joe went to work for Larick Allan Hill. The project base mainly consisted of new high end residences and remodels in Atherton, Palo Alto, Portola Valley, Woodside and Carmel Valley. There, Joe learned the in's and out's of light frame construction and residential design.
In 2003 Suzanne and Joe formed SUJO design inc. An architectural company providing a wide range of services to residential clients.
When not working, Joe spends most of his time with his family and friends, enjoying the simple things in life.... napping, cooking, eating, lounging, gardening, playing music, and reading. And when he has extra time... he will try to squeeze in some sailing.
